Job Summary: A Cake Decorator Expert, you'll apply a mastery of skills in a specialized area, and maintain quality of products. You'll rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals, serve as a resource to others to resolve complex issues, and train future Cake Decorators.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:• Customer Service:
- Assists customers with bakery products and purchases
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and to build department sales
• Production:
- Masters all specialty cakes, sculpture cakes, signature cakes, and H-E-B wedding cakes
- Handles and masters custom orders by request
- Reads / executes daily production list through cake flow
- Properly tops / finishes all cake goods to create a fresh and appetizing presentation
- Maintains product integrity through proper handling of product
- Ensures quality control of all products before sending to sales floor
- Ensures cake product reaches the showcase and tables at the prescribed times
- Trains future Cake decorators
- Performs Cake Decorator duties
• Food Service:
- Organizes back storage room, freezer, walk-in, DSD inventory, wrap, supplies and production area
- Assists with inventory control, including loading, unloading, moving, and storing products
• Food Safety:
- Maintains sanitation in work area
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Ensures all products comply with H-E-B code dating policy
- Ensures productivity standards are met without compromising product quality
- Ensures potentially hazardous foods are maintained under appropriate temperatures
